Why I choose to be an Immigrant

22.3.17

We are dealing with a tough topic here in London. And it's not because I wanna bring politics here on my blog that I am talking about it. It's because it's regarding a matter in which I am completely involved.

There was a time when I felt safe in my little small town in Italy. I was content with the life there, but I need to tell you that was just my childhood.

Growing up, I always felt I was trapped in that small town, without a way out. I was often dreaming about flying away and spread my wings to a bigger world. Having a creative mind, I needed to have more inspirations around me, but those walls were huge.

I needed to feel free and independent. I needed to try something new. So I made myself a plan and saved money for two years, before heading to London with one way ticket.

It wasn't just because I needed a job that could last more than two months, but firstly because something inside of me was telling me it was time. Time to get going.

It's not an easy decision, but for some people it's necessary. Imagine to not have a choice, to be trapped forever inside those four small walls that are huge. Imagine to not be able to travel where you want and stay there as long as you want. We all should be able to be free and make our choices, but after all life isn't fair.

* If you are thinking of moving out somewhere, I highly recommend you the movie "Into the Wild". For me it was the movie that set my mind on moving out, straight away after watching it.

// I am wearing my new lovely cape from FashionMia, which surprisingly fit me so well! (I am not use to capes!) and my new embroidery sweatshirt by Zaful, which I adored from the moment I unpacked it. It's simply perfect for this spring weather. //
